Simon Cowell To Launch Cookery Talent Show, Along Lines Of 'X Factor'

Simon Cowell Cooking Up New Talent Show

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Simon Cowell reportedly plans to launch his own cookery talent show.

The creator of The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent has apparently been inspired by MasterChef Australia after it beat his own show Australia's Got Talent in the ratings, The Sun reports.

Now Cowell wants to take on the successful BBC show - which is presented by Australian restaurateur John Torode and ingredients expert Greg Wallace in the UK - with his own TV cooking contest using top chefs and franchise it around the world.

The 51-year-old TV mogul plans to start work on it next year after US X Factor ends on December 22 and produce it through his company Syco.

MasterChef Australia sets aspiring cooks tasks and then sees them judged by a panel of experts.

Last year it was named most popular reality show at the Logies, Australia's annual TV awards.
