A Banana That'll Have You Jumping Out Of Your Skin

Japanese Banana Artist Gains Cult Following

Japanese artist Keisuke Yamada has an odd hobby – he makes sculptures out of peeled bananas, including this scary chap (pictured).

Posted online, his intricate creations have inspired a cult following, with characters as disparate as Marge Simpson, Elvis Presley and Prince William recreated from the ripe yellow fruit.

The 23-year-old has even turned his hand to sculpting Greek Mythology, including a banana version of Poseidon carried forth by bounding horses.

The Duchess of Cambridge has also been 'carved', along with Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean.

The artist makes his creations using a toothpick and a spoon. Fortunately, there’s no chance of the edible art going bad.

“I eat them,” Yamada said.
