Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy co-stars Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch are pitched against each other in a bid to pick up a prestigious film award.
The pair, who starred in the film version of John le Carre's tale of espionage and double-dealing this year, are both nominated in the 14th annual Moet British Independent Film Awards (Bifas).
The film, which was released earlier this year to critical acclaim, picked up seven nominations including nods for its director, Tomas Alfredson, and leading man Gary Oldman who played the part of George Smiley - first made famous by Sir Alec Guinness in the television version.
Hardy and Cumberbatch are both in the running for the best supporting actor gong.
Two other films, Steve McQueen's Shame and Paddy Considine's directorial debut Tyrannosaur, have also received seven nominations.
There are nominations for Tilda Swinton, who gets a best actress nod for her role in We Need To Talk About Kevin and Ralph Fiennes for his work directing Coriolanus.
Veteran star Vanessa Redgrave is nominated alongside stars including Carey Mulligan and Kathy Burke for the best supporting actress award.
The awards' joint directors Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson said: "This year's nominees really highlight the immense wealth of British talent in this country today. We are incredibly proud that the awards have grown to a level that garners attention worldwide, helping to bring British talent and independent filmmaking to the international stage."
The winners are decided by a jury of industry insiders including actors David Thewlis and Ruth Wilson and the awards will be handed out at an event in the Old Billingsgate Market in London on Sunday 4 December.
