Your New Career Move? Nasa Advertises Astronaut Vacancies

(VIDEO) Your New Career Move? Nasa Needs Astronauts

Are you happy in your job? Really happy? Over-the-moon happy? You could be, if you take up Nasa's call to join them as an astronaut.

They might not have a manned-flight program, but that hasn't stopped Nasa asking for applicants for its 2013 Candidate Class.

If you're chosen, you could pocket between £40,993 and £89,769 per year, That may be no more than your current salary, but the location has its perks, including a smashing view.

Nasa administrator Charles Bolden says: 'Your space flight experience begins right here, right now.' Well, not right now as in while you're reading this, but pretty much as soon as you send off your application.

To be considered for a special white suit, you need to be a US citizen, have three years of professional related experience, or 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft.

If you don't make it through the rounds, and you end up stuck here on earth with the rest of us, you can always join Nasa in one of its many tweet-ups.
