'Strictly Come Dancing' Review: Contestants Trip The Wembley Floor Fantastic

Holly Back In Artem's Arms, But Who Tripped Wembley Fantastic?

Strictly Come Dancing contestants had a fresh challenge this evening, dancing in front of a 6000-strong crowd at Wembley Arena, with even the coolest of them admitting to ballroom butterflies ahead of their big night.

The evening kicked off with a stunning dance routine, taking in the whole of the floor - set to a grandiose Queen musical montage - before the contestants joined in. The question was, could their own performances live up to such a grand entrance?

Robbie Savage and Ola - The expansive floor space lent itself well to the high-octane performance set to Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You, which gave Robbie Savage the chance to undo his shirt (again). Judge Len called it "wild and savage", but a great start to the night.

Total judges' vote (out of a possible 40): 26

Alex Jones and James - Simon Bates would be horrified. 27 years after he banned Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax from the Radio 1 playlist, it became the soundtrack for a bit of Saturday night BBC1 family entertainment. How times change! Judge Alesha called it a "seductive tango" and even judge Craig begrudgingly admitted there was "an improvement" in Alex's steps.

Holly Valance and Artem - Holly was back in her original partner Artem's arms, after his speedy recovery from a back injury meant he only had to miss one week after all. They took to the floor to Amy Winehouse's Valerie, and it was like Artem had never been away. Judges weren't greatly impressed, however, with lots of technical advice, although Len praised their use of space.

Total vote: 31

Anita Dobson and Robin - got the crowd clapping along to Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners and stayed energetic themselves. Judge Craig wasn't a fan of Anita's hunched shoulders, but praised the pair's timing, and Len was impressed by how they continued to give 100% to the show.

Total vote: 27

Harry Judd and Aliona - another great audience favourite, particularly when there was mention of a shirtless display, Harry and Aliona geared up for the samba to Elton John's I'm Still Standing, despite Harry's concern for his lack of hips. Judge Len called it "full-on" although Bruno considered Harry "over-dressed for the occasion".

Total vote: 34

Russell Grant and Flavia - Russell started the dance in unforgettable fashion, being shot out of a cannon before taking a typically crowd-pleasing turn. Judge Bruno said afterwards, "It had nothing to do with jive, but I loved it."

Total vote: 24

Chelsee Healey and Pasha - said they wanted to Spice Up the crowd (with the help of the Spice Girls' tune) on a cold night with their samba. There were a few timings errors, but judge Bruno said afterwards he loved her rhythm, and Craig liked the spins.

Total vote: 35

Jason Donovan and Kristina - travelled back to the Eighties for musical inspiration, with Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go Go providing the background to their jolly jive. Jason briefly forgot the steps, but was able to show his strength in the lifts. Judges were sympathetic for the error, as they all said the routine was otherwise energetic and impressive.
