The American Music Awards proved to be a big one for the ladies of the industry.
As well as British soul singer Adele and US country music artist Taylor Swift each taking home three of the top prizes, Rihanna, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj each collected a trophy.
And Katy Perry was also recognised with a special achievement prize for becoming the first woman in the history of pop music to have five number one singles from one album.
