Michael Larkin: Pensioner Stuck In Bath Tub For Five Days

Pensioner Unable To Claw His Way Out Of Bath Is Stuck For Five Days

An 85-year-old pensioner was trapped in his bath for five days.

Michael Larkin, known to his friends as “Patsy”, fainted en route to the toilet. He fell into his bath, hitting his head on the taps on the way down.

When he regained consciousness, he was unable to pull himself out of the high-sided bath.

According to the pensioner, he was forced to sit in his own mess, unable to claw his way out. By the fifth day, he was close to death, suffering from hypothermia.

Patsy’s ordeal only ended when the landlord of his local pub dispatched another regular to check on him. Hearing the widower’s cries for help, the police were called, gaining access to the retired engineer’s flat.

Speaking to the Mirror, Larkin said: “I was getting weaker but I never lost faith I'd get out. It was lucky I had my coat on when I fell as the heating was off and it got very cold.”

Larkin is currently being treated in hospital.
