X Factor Winner To Cover Damien Rice's 'Cannonball'?

This year's X Factor winner may release a cover of Damien Rice's 2004 single Cannonball, according to The Sun.

The tabloid paper claims all four remaining contestants in the competition have recorded a version of Cannonball, and that it's one of three tracks being considered for release.

A source said: "The acts are still recording the different options but Cannonball has a good shot.

"After reworking Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah for Alexandra Burke then Biffy's track Many Of Horror for Matt last year, it's the next step."

The four remaining X Factor acts - Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily, Misha B and Little Mix - will be whittled down to two by the final on December 11, and the last two performances of the series are traditionally renditions of the track picked for the single.

Rice's song peaked at Number 19 when it was released as a single in 2004, but has been in constant use ever since on television and film. In 2010 Aiden Grimshaw sang Cannonball at Judges Houses stage of X Factor.
