The parents of a couple brutally murdered on their honeymoon are hoping their children's killers will finally be sentenced.
Welsh newlyweds Ben and Catherine Mullany, both 31, were gunned down on the holiday island of Antigua just a fortnight after they had tied the knot in 2008.
Kaniel Martin, 23, and Avie Howell, 20, burst into Mr and Mrs Mullany's luxury hotel chalet, forcing them to kneel down in front of them before shooting them both in the back of the head.
University of West England physiotherapy student Mr Mullany and his wife, a doctor working at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, died after being shot in the head on July 27 2008.
After killing the couple, who lived in Rhos near Pontardawe, Martin and Howell stole an inexpensive mobile phone, a cheap digital camera and a small quantity of cash.
The pair were convicted of their murders - as well as slaying a local shopkeeper in almost identical circumstances - last July.
Since then Martin and Howell have been brought back to court on a number of occasions, with their victims' families hoping the pair will spend the rest of their lives behind bars.
However, the case has yet to be drawn to a conclusion - more than three years on from the murders. Sources close to Mr Mullany's parents, Marilyn and Cynlais, said the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the case has caused them more distress.
A delay in completing psychiatric reports on Martin and Howell saw sentencing pushed back on a number of occasions. And last month, sentencing had to be rescheduled at the last minute after Martin's solicitor Marcus Foster, who lives on a neighbouring island, suddenly fell ill.
The pair were originally scheduled for sentencing next Thursday. However, it has been brought forward due to scheduling conflicts with a psychiatrist. Local reports say the sentencing could not go ahead without Dr James King, because it is expected he will be questioned about his report and evaluation of both men.
