Children Dedicate Pantomime To Sisters Knifed By Ex-Policeman Father

Schoolchildren have dedicated a pantomime performance to their friends Kimberley and Genevieve after the sisters were knifed by their policeman father in a vicious attack.

Tobias Day killed his wife Samantha and daughter Genevieve and left his other children Kimberley and Adam fighting for their lives in the attack on Thursday. Day killed himself following the attack.

Six-year-old Genevieve and her 15-year-old sister Kimberley were due to appear in a production of Mother Goose, which was being staged by Trevonne Stage School in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

Owner Trevor Makins decided to dedicate the school's performance to the Day family as the two girls had been members of the dance school for several years, a paper reported.

Toby Day, formerly an inspector in the Leicestershire Constabulary, was sacked on 1 December after a misconduct hearing for misuse of police systems and matters concerning honesty and integrity. He had previously received an award for outstanding work.

The 37-year-old allegedly used the national police computer to search for a man he believed his wife was conducting an affair with but the police have refused to confirm the reports.
