Now that the Winter Solstice has passed it's time to start celebrating the lighter side of life. The regular gathering of druids, wiccans and other revellers at Stonehenge (pictured below) proved that even the solstice itself can be something to cheer.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge found inspiration in the culinary arts, when they took cooking instructions at the Centrepoint's Camberwell Foyer - and later had a little dance to boot.
Unfortunately tragic events in Baghdad, where more than 60 people were killed in a series of bomb attacks across the Iraqi capital gave the world cause for reflection despite the festive cheer.
