Prometheus Trailer: Ridley Scott's ‘Alien' Prequel Unveiled

The trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has finally been released – ahead of the film’s arrival in theatres next summer.

It’s Scott’s first sci-fi film since 1982’s Blade Runner and is filmed in 3D.

Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and Charlize Theron, it details the terrifying exploration of an alien race.

The film was originally touted as a prequel to the director’s classic Alien, but Scott claims it will no longer reference his 1979 hit.

“We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?”

The film is scheduled for release in the UK on June 1, 2012.
