Russian Touring Car Driver Has Lucky Escape From Flipping Car (VIDEO)

Racing car drivers need to have lightning-quick reactions and nerves of steel, not only to do well and win races... but sometimes just to survive.

And this footage, believed to be part of the Russian Touring Car Championship, shows a moment such skills are called into action as a car flips and narrowly misses another racer.

During the street race, the driver of car 72 can be seen being overtaken by car 61 which speeds off briefly, before proceeding to hit a low tyre wall.

The hatchback then flips into the air, flies across the track and in front and over the recently passed vehicle, causing the driver the steer around it.

Showing remarkable nerves as he negotiates around the falling car, the driver then calmly puts on his windscreen wipers to clear it of debris.

Motor Authority reports that car 61 looked like it vaporised the radiator, and possibly fragged the transmission or engine block, as it sprayed fluids all over the following car.

The Daily Mail added that the condition of the crashed driver is not known.
