Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins broke down in tears as she took to the stage on Saturday just days after splitting from her fiance.
The singer began dating TV presenter Gethin Jones in 2007 and the pair became engaged last January, but Jenkins stunned fans over Christmas by revealing the relationship had ended.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, she revealed, "Geth & I have decided to go our separate ways. We are both beyond broken-hearted."
Jenkins kicked off her latest tour at the New Theatre Oxford in Oxford, England on Saturday, and she became overwhelmed with emotion during a rendition of heartache song Your Silhouette, which features the lyrics "lying in our empty bed" and "clinging to a memory of you".
The star had to be consoled by her conductor, Anthony Inglis, who offered the star a tissue to dry her tears.
He subsequently tweeted: "Glad I could come to the aid with a hanky. Needed one myself."
