Timm Schneider Makes Street Art Using 'Kermit' Eyes

Art On The Eye Street

Now we don’t want to get into one of those tiresome ‘what is art’ debates with anyone, but street artist Timm Schneider has got us wondering.

It’s not that the German’s project isn’t funny and engaging (or as some would contest, creepy), it is just that it literally involves sticking a pair of Kermit the Frog-style eyes on top of things to make them look like faces.

Street art, or school boy prank? Either way, we rather like it.

The 28-year-old from Frankfurt evidently takes it all fairly seriously himself, telling the Daily Mail in an interview: “As well as being art I thought it was nice because feeding a trash monster teaches environmental responsibility through fun.”

As well as encouraging kids to ‘feed’ their rubbish to bins, Schneider said he believes his work fits in with the idea that ‘the best things in life are free’.

“I don't feel like the typical artist selling artworks in galleries,” he added.

We can’t say we’re hugely surprised - though in the blogsphere at least, Schneider's work is popping up all over the place.
