Sony Walkman Z1000 Android Preview

Sony Walkman Z1000 Android Preview

Sony just won't let the Walkman brand name die. The Walkman is back from the eighties in the guise of a slick Android device to rival the iPod touch.

The new machine, available from mid February, has a sizeable 4.3" WVGA display, powered by Android Gingerbread 2.3 and a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor.

To access the outside works, the Sony Walkman Z1000 Android features DLNA support for airplay and an HDMI microport.

The machine also includes access to the Android market and FM radio, Wi-Fi web browser and GPS.

Could this be the most functional walkman ever?

Sony Walkman Z1000 Android costs more than the iPod touch. The 32GB is priced at £299.99, available from late February 2012 in the UK.
