David Walliams Angers Britain's Got Talent Bosses With 'Smutty' Debut

Funnyman David Walliams infuriated ITV bosses during his debut appearance on the panel of Britain's Got Talent by making a series of smutty jokes.

The comic is a new judge on this year's series along with former Strictly Come Dancing panellist Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden.

But during his first appearance at the Manchester auditions last week, Walliams panicked show chiefs with his innuendos and outrageous behaviour.

After one act gave a performance which involved lifting each other up, the Little Britain star then cheekily asked Simon: "But did it raise you up?"

He also reportedly made jokes about sex toys and patted presenter Declan Donnelly's bum.

Following the first audition, Cowell said: "David was badly behaved yesterday."

TV bosses have reportedly told Walliams to calm his antics down because BGT is a family show.

A source tells The Sun: "A lot of Walliams' comments need editing out. It certainly can't go on for the rest of filming. If we don't get clean comments, that act won't get a big showing.

"It's a learning curve. He was very funny but we need him to be more family-friendly. But we're still confident we made the right choice. Simon Cowell loves the banter and thinks the new panel has great chemistry."

The new series of Britain's Got Talent will begin on ITV in March. Here are the judges and presenters kicking off the action in Manchester:
