Honours Controversies: The Big Names That Snubbed The Queen

Honours Controversies: Britain's Biggest Snubs

The government has officially released a list of 277 rebels who refused honours between the years 1951 and 1999.

The names were released after an FOI request, on the grounds that those named in this list were deceased.

There have also been calls for some to be stripped of their honours after they're involved in scandals - such as former RBS chair Sir Fred Goodwin, who was given his for "services to banking".

Here's a list of the biggest controversies in Britain's honours system.
