Coleen Rooney's Blackmailers Jailed

Blackmailers Jailed

Coleen Rooney will be breathing a sigh of relief after two men who tried to blackmail the star were jailed for a total of almost four years.

Lee Platt, 29, and Stephen Malcolm, 42, ordered Wayne Rooney's missus to hand over £5,000 for the return of her camera, which contained photographs of the couple's two-year-old son Kai.

They had originally asked Rooney's agent Paul Stretford for £1,000, but after two prostitutes claimed to have had sex with footballer Wayne they upped the figure, claiming it increased the value of the pictures.

Platt has now been sentenced to two years behind bars, while Malcolm has been jailed for 20 months for blackmail and handling stolen goods.

Platt's girlfriend Jennifer Green also admitted handling stolen goods and was sentenced to 12 months community service.

Prosecutor Deborah Gould told Manchester Crown Court: “She [Coleen] said what was particularly distressing was that the family pictures were of no relevance to anybody else other than to her and her family.

"It was stated that the pictures showed her husband in some state which was untrue, which caused her distress. She said it was a personal camera and not intended to reach the media."

Coleen lost the camera during a Black Eyed Peas concert in May 2010.
