Will 56cm Nepalese Pensioner Be Crowned World’s Smallest Man?

A 72-year-old Nepalese pensioner is hoping to be crowned the world’s smallest man.

Chandra Bahadur Dangi stands at just 56 centimetres (22 inches) tall and weighs 12 kilos.

After a lifetime of taunts, Dangi is hoping his diminutive stature will earn him positive recognition.

Guinness World Records have announced they are preparing to travel to Dangi’s village to measure him – and see if he will take the accolade, which is currently held by Junrey Balawing, who is 59.93cm tall.

He told AFP: “I think things will be better now. I hope that I will be famous all over the world.

“I want to visit foreign countries and meet people from around the world.”

Dangi, who is thought to suffer from primordial dwarfism, has five siblings who are of normal height
