Ken Livingstone's 'Hang A Banker Week' Comments Spark Fresh Outrage

Ken Livingstone: 'Hang A Banker A Week'

Ken Livingstone has sparked outrage, once again, after calling for Londoners to "hang a banker a week" until the industry improves.

The Sun reports that he made the remarks during a speech to the Electrical Contractors' Association on Wednesday evening, but a spokesperson for Livingstone brushed off the comments as a joke.

However British Bankers' Association head Angela Knight warned against demonising bankers.

"If he intends to make London hostile to business and string up a fair proportion of his electorate he is going the right way about it," she told the tabloid.

Livingstone's latest gaffe come less than two weeks after he said the Tory Party was “riddled” with homosexuals and called bankers “monsters” in an interview with the New Statesman.
