WHO? Christopher Kane
IN A NUTSHELL: It was a U-turn on Kane's sparkling spring collection of lustrous florals and Jackie O silhouettes. This season the designer was inspired by Al Pacino's 1980 thriller Cruising about a homophobic serial killer, and the women on the runway were a perfect fit for the film's gritty and sinister New York setting. There was plenty of leather, leopard print and moire fabrics (inspired by the lining of coffins, we're told), with lurid purples, reds and blues that evoke the neon lights of seedy clubs.

VERDICT: This was Christopher Kane at his most gut-wrenching and gritty. In other words, this was Christopher Kane at his very best.
