One Direction's Zayn Malik Rushes Back To UK Following Family Death

Zayn's Family Heartache

One Direction star Zayn Malik has jetted back to the UK after receiving devastating news of a family death.

Former X Factor contestant Zayn was in Canada where his band were supporting US pop act Big Time Rush on a North American and Canadian tour.

Bandmate Harry Styles took to Twitter to break the news and offer his friend support confirming he, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson would continue with their scheduled performances whilst Zayn is comforted by his loved ones.

Harry wrote: "Zayn has suffered a loss in his family & has had to go home for a few days so won't be at our next shows in the US... Our thoughts are with him and his family at this sad time."

Zayn is yet to comment on the sad news but he did retweet a touching message from a fan, which read: "God has no Phone, but I talk to him. He has no Facebook, but he is still my friend. He does not have a twitter, but I still follow him."

The star experienced a tragic bereavement when his beloved granddad passed away while he was competing in The X Factor in 2010. He missed rehearsals but returned for the live shows after the funeral.

Fans of the boyband showed their support for Zayn as "#StayStrongZayn" quickly became a trending topic on Twitter.
