Alex Jones: How Showbiz Are You?

She's the cute Welsh presenter who became a household name after replacing Christine Bleakley on The One Show. But has Alex Jones developed a touch of the showbiz airs and graces since she hit the telly big time? Time to find out.

1. Who is the most famous name in your mobile?

Probably Chris Evans.

0/5. Work colleagues don't count.

2. Most bizarre thing you've ever read about yourself?

The other day I read I wanted to be a professional ballerina - I don't know where that came from? I used to have ballet lessons, but it was like 'she's going to have a career in ballet'. Err, no.

2/5. Wonder what Craig Revel Horwood say?

3. How much is too much for a haircut?

I think it depends if there is colour involved but if it is just a cut and blow dry I think £100 is absolute limit. I was quite shocked when I came to London, it's ridiculous. I am quite lucky as I've managed to find this way of doing my hair so that it only needs doing twice a year.

0/5. Ooh, imagine her split ends.

4. What is the weirdest place you've ever been recognised?

It happens to me in bizarre places most of the time really. It was probably in the toilet in Sainsburys. I came out of the cubicle and I thought the lady was going to say something like 'is there toilet paper in there?' but she went 'oooooh, how was The One Show today?'. She was like perched outside the cubicle. I don't mind it really, it's one of those things I'm still getting used to, but the people are so nice.

5. What's the weirdest thing you've been sent by fan?

They are really good, I always get really nice things. I get a lot of marmalade. On Friday I got a box of it. I don't know if I mentioned I liked it, but someone out there thinks I really like it.

2/5. Riiiight...

6. What's the best party you've ever been to?

There's been a few - I do like a nice party. I think it must have been the Strictly wrap party. It was a very long night and everyone was very excited having come to the end of a very long series, and everyone was in pretty good spirits being at the Blackpool Tower ballroom. Everybody's families were there and we got to meet each other properly.

2/5. What you mean is you all got a bit merry and tugged Brucie's toupee off?

7. Ever used your fame to get what you want?

No I'm too shy! I still think that nobody would know who I am! My friends always say 'just say who you are' and I'm like 'no, they won't know!'. I'm really embarrassed when it comes to things like that.

0/5. Just say you dated Steve Jones.

8. How much cash would it take to get you to pose in the buff?

Not much! But I don't think The One Show viewers would like that very much. I think it may upset some of the older viewers if not the nation generally. So don't know, I'd never say never because I've done it before for charity. If the right reason came about then yeah, I'd consider it.

1/5. Don't be shy Alex, we've all seen those pictures.

9. Best freebie you ever received?

I don't think anything can beat the marmalade really. We're really lucky because at the BBC we're not really supposed to recieve anything, but we do have some nice presents from people. Champagne is always welcome. I'm a girly girl, some nice champagne and toiletries is all it takes really and I'm happy.

2/5. Champagne? She's come a long way from Brains beer.

10. Ever been chatted up by another celeb?

I was actually, quite a long time ago, but I was quite excited because it made it into The Mirror. I was chatted up by Craig David, but unfortunately I failed to recognise him. That was a typical Alex moment. I just looked at him and was like 'no, I don't know you'. Can I get a rewind?

3/5. Always love a celeb who names names.

Result: 12/50

Well it turns out Alex is just the girl-next-door we always knew she was. The Let's Dance For Sports Relief would rather have jars of marmalade than caviar and doesn't know who Craig David is, and that's exactly why we love her.

The Sport Relief weekend is happening from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March. Pick up a pair of the official Sport Relief Socks for just £2.50. For more information go to
