What kind of person chooses to sleep on the street, sometimes for days, just to buy a mass-produced new gadget?
Young Apple-loving men, mostly. We worked with Protect Your Bubble gadget insurers to survey the 544 people queuing outside the Apple store on London's Regent Street ahead of Friday's launch to find out what makes them tick.
Unsurprisingly, the queue was dominated by men - average age 25 - who outnumbered the women 10 to one.
On average, each person waiting patiently was loaded with expensive goods - £1,217 worth of electronic gadgets on average, including iPods to smartphones and laptops. Fortunately the queue was well attended by Apple's security guards.
