Three Arrested After Car Wash Shooting

Three people have been arrested following a shooting at a car wash in which two men were injured.

Kent Police said two men were arrested at 11.30am today in relation to offences connected to a business dispute which it is believed led to the shooting on an industrial estate in Railway Street, Gillingham, Kent, at about 12.30pm on Friday.

A third man was arrested in Chatham yesterday evening for allegedly causing a disturbance as police searched one of several properties as part of their investigation.

Two men suspected of carrying out the shooting are still being sought, a police spokesman said.

Kent Police said one of the men had suffered a serious but non life-threatening injury to his leg and both men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The spokesman added: "Kent Police would like to reassure local residents that this was not a random shooting.

"Officers have identified the two outstanding suspects believed to have carried out the shooting and are working to locate them.

"There is a continued police presence in Medway as police continue their inquiries."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Kent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
