El Hadji Diouf Arrested Following 'Glassing' At Manchester Nightclub

El Hadji Diouf Arrested

El Hadji Diouf was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of violent disorder.

Doncaster Rovers forward Diouf is believed to have suffered a face wound after a fracas at the Circle Bar nightclub in Manchester city centre.

The 31-year-old arrived at 3am, say The Sun, before a melee occurred which has left a friend of QPR defender Anton Ferdinand in a "serious condition" with head and neck injuries, believed to have been inflicted with a broken piece of glass.

Diouf reportedly once threatened to "knife" Ferdinand after an on-pitch row when the pair were at together Sunderland in 2009.

Diouf was questioned by police before being bailed while Ferdinand was interviewed under caution but not arrested.

Having arrived in England for £10m in 2002, Diouf has gained a loathsome reputation in British football.

A veteran of six UK clubs, the 31-year-old has been charged for spitting twice - at Celtic fans and Portsmouth defender Arjan de Zeeuw - and has been accused of spitting at West Ham and Middlesbrough fans.

Ex-QPR manager Neil Warnock last year accused the Senegalese of taunting Jamie Mackie last season, when the Rs winger was nursing a broken leg.
