Manchester City V Manchester United Premier League Title Showdown Build-Up In Quotes

Laughing Stocks And Moral Victories - United And City In Quotes

Manchester United have long enjoyed superiority over Manchester City, but Monday's Premier League title showdown could signal the changing of the Mancunian guard.

City have already sampled Champions League football and are an expanding force bankrolled by the Abu Dhabi United Group. United are enjoying Sir Alex Ferguson's Indian summer, whilst owned by the loathed Glazer family.

Trash-talking, as the Americans call it, has begun again, but there were always the occasional digs from both sides of the Manchester divide.

Here we recall some of the most memorable City-United quotes:

Sir Alex Ferguson on that Carlos Tevez billboard.

"This club will, without doubt, be the biggest and best football club in the world. And it’s not a case of ‘if’ but when we are at Wembley having beaten Man United yet again."

Team-mate Micah Richards continues the charade.
