Bristol Mayoral Candidate Eric Mutch Changes Name To 'Mr Corrupt B'stard'

I'm Mr 'Corrupt Self-serving Lying B'stard': Vote For Me

A Bristol resident has changed his name for the second time, as he prepares to campaign to be Mayor of Bristol.

Eric Mutch, who changed his name to 'Zero None Of The Above' for the General Election two years ago will now be known as 'Mr Corrupt Self-serving Lying B'stard'.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, Mutch said: "I think my name change makes a statement about how I feel about politicians all over the world".

This is not the first time a candidate has changed their name in the run-up to an election.

Basildon resident Terry Marsh changed his name by deed poll to "None of the Above X" when standing as a local Parliamentary candidate. Football fan Martin Bland fought the Leeds Central constituency under the name "We Beat The Scum One Nil".

While Annunziata Rees-Mogg, who was running as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate in 2010 for Somerset and Frome, refused to change her name to 'Nancy Mogg'.

Many candidates in Brazil have changed their names when contesting the local elections. Six of them adopted the name "Barack Obama", while another took on the name "Chico Bin Laden".

Meanwhile, Count Nikolai Dmitrievich Tolstoy-Miloslavsky ran as Ukip's parliamentary candidate for Witney in 2010. However, Count Nikolai was fighting under his original name.
