TV Pick: Two Greedy Italians - What's On The Menu?

Two Greedy Italians - BBC2, 8pm

The 'Two Greedy Italians' Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo continue their delicious foodie adventure. Tonight they head to the central Alps to learn the enterprising food skills of the Lombards.

Scavenging ingredients, the duo create a chestnut gnocchi, and also work for butter and bresaola - thinly sliced dried beef - which they use for a salad.

The old friends and chefs also provide recipes for Alpine pizza and pizzoccheri pasta - don't watch this show hungry.

The Two Thousand Year Old Computer - BBC4, 9pm

Did computers really exist 2,000 years ago? This documentary joins a team of mathematicians, historians and other experts trying to solve the puzzle and meet the eccentric British engineer who has built his own version of Archimedes' astrolabe and lunar calendar.

The 2,000-year-old device was recovered from a Roman shipwreck off the southern coast of Greece in 1901, and is believed to be the world's oldest computer.
