Liverpool Decline To Comment On Future Of Manager Kenny Dalglish

Liverpool Issue No Comment On Dalglish Exit Rumours

Liverpool Football CLub have refused to comment on rumours circulating that manager Kenny Dalglish is to depart the club.

Dalglish's role has been the subject of mounting speculation after a poor campaign which saw the Reds finish in eighth place in the Premier League table.

The 61-year-old did guide the club to their first trophy since 2006 with a League Cup win over Cardiff City, but they also lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea two weeks ago.

Under Dalglish's second tenure as manager, the club has spent £114.2m on seven players, with most underperforming.

Director of football Damien Comolli was sacked in February, while it was announced last week director of communications Ian Cotton is to leave the club.

The Scot's behaviour in front of the media glare has also become increasingly bizarre throughout the season, as he responded aloofly to a number of interviewers.

DALGLISH ACCUSES GEOFF SHREEVES

Dalglish returned to manage the club he quit from coaching in 1991 after Roy Hodgson was sacked in January 2011.

Initially appointed on an interim basis, Dalglish was promoted to first-team manager at the end of the 2010/11 season.
