Emma Stone Scoops MTV Movie Trailblazer Award For Connecting With Fans

Early MTV Movie Award For Emma

Actress Emma Stone is set to be honoured with the inaugural Trailblazer Award at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards next week.

Stone has landed nominations for Best Female Performance for Crazy, Stupid, Love and Best Kiss for her steamy lip-lock with co-star Ryan Gosling, in addition to Best Cast for her work in the Oscar-nominated The Help.

But the 23 year old will already be a winner when the celebrities hit the red carpet at the Los Angeles ceremony on 3 June after she was named the first recipient of the MTV Trailblazer Award for her ability to connect with fans whether she's starring in a comedy like Easy A or a drama such as The Help.

Comedian Russell Brand will host the event, which will also see Kristen Wiig do battle with Jennifer Lawrence after Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games scored eight nominations apiece.

The Hunger Games and Bridesmaids are both up for Movie of the Year, but will face stiff competition from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Help and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.

Both films are also nominated in the Best Cast category and for the Best Breakthrough Performance, for Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy and The Hunger Games' Liam Hemsworth.
