LoveFilm Hits Back At NetFlix With Exclusive Content Coup

If you're a LoveFilm subscriber then we have some good news for you: there's now less reason to go out and enjoy the sun this summer.

Amazon's streaming film offering just hit back at UK newcomer NetFlix, by signing an exclusive deal with Universal to give access to its releases in the "second pay window".

LoveFilm said the multi-year digital license agreement will see Universal films available on all of its digital platforms, including Xbox, Playstation and iOS devices.

Films available to watch via the streaming service will include 'Kick-Ass', 'Despicable Me', 'American Reunion', 'Battleship' and 'Senna'.

Jim Buckle, MD of LoveFilm, said: "LoveFilm is proud to offer its members access to the highest quality content across multiple platforms from another of the world's most respected studios. NBCUniversal is also LoveFilm latest exclusive streaming deal in our quest to deliver the widest choice of content on as many platforms as possible."
