A British sailor and expectant father has gone missing in Dubai.
The man, identified in reports as Timothy Andrew MacColl, is currently unaccounted for and the incident has been reported to local authorities, who are treating it as a "missing person event", the navy said.
The Royal Navy confirmed the news on Friday as his wife, Rachael, who is expecting her third child told The Herald newspaper she was "desperately worried": "We are appealing to the people of Dubai and reaching out to the large ex-pat community to help us find Timmy and raise awareness in that area.

"We are desperately worried. Checks have been made with hospitals, prisons, police stations, medical stations and mortuaries and there is no record of him and no sightings so far."
The 27-year-old member of HMS Westminster's crew was last seen getting into a taxi at early on Sunday morning.
A Royal Navy spokesman said: "We can confirm that a member of HMS Westminster's crew is currently missing in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
"This has been reported to the local authorities, who are currently treating the incident as a missing person event. Everything is being done to ensure that he is located safely.
"We are working closely with the local authorities and FCO representatives in the UAE to establish his whereabouts.
"The individual's next of kin has been informed and is being provided with support from the Royal Navy."
