Johnny Marr is teaming up with a charismatic frontman on stage this weekend.
Intelligent, lyrical, poetic, complicated, big in the eighties... could it be...? Nope, but almost as good.
Bryan Ferry will be assuming frontman duties alongside Johnny Marr on Sunday
The former Smiths guitarist will be at the side of Bryan Ferry for a complete set at GuilFest on Sunday 15th, with material promised from both Ferry's solo career and his Roxy Music catalogue.
According to the festival website, the pair have been musically associated since 1987 when Marr played on Ferry's Bete Noir album, and they have been working together again recently.
Ferry says: "Johnny has previously performed with us on TV and at some smaller events but I am thrilled that he will be playing a full show with us for the very first time at GuilFest."
Morrissey back in the day...
No further news on a Smiths reunion for Marr with his old musical partner Morrissey. It, unsurprisingly, didn't happen for the Jubilee, but if we keep our fingers crossed REALLY hard for the Olympics...
And here's something we're not going to hear on Sunday...
