The Eye Of Sauron? Photos Captures Sun Looking Like Lord Of The Rings Baddie

This incredible image of the sun looks like a scene from Lord Of The Rings.

The rays of light and clouds at the right height have combined to give the sun a halo, making it look like a giant eye in the sky.

The picture was taken by amateur photographer Mike Heller, 39, in his back garden in Vancouver, Canada.

The Eye of Sauron?

The IT worker took the picture on a sunny Saturday morning in June this year.

The amazing phenomenon is caused by high, thin cirrus clouds which contain millions of tiny ice crystals

He said: "I was leaving the house to go to a car show and looked up in the sky and saw the halo.

"I was wondering what it was, and how it was created because it looked really interesting.

"Plenty of times you see cool things but you don't have a camera with you. Luckily I had my camera with me this time.

"I haven't seen it very often, I was pretty impressed by it. It wasn't in the sky very long and it was really cool.

"I'm really pleased with the results."

In the film trilogy Lord of the Rings, the Eye of Sauron was an enormous all-seeing-eye atop a huge tower of the fortress Barad-dûr in Mordor.
