'Shag A Gamer': Dating Website For Video Game Fans Launches Sex-Only Version

A controversial dating website aimed at people who play video games has launched a spin-off site exclusively to help "horny geeks" find sex.

The brains behind Date A Gamer launched the new site - Shag A Gamer - to serve its members who were only looking for short-term relationships, they have claimed.

The site advertises itself with the promise that gamers will be able to meet up for "no-strings attached sex".

"We play host to thousands of single gamers who want nothing more than a quick shag. If you're feeling lonely or you want a like minded companion tonight - this is your site."

It features pictures of women posing in their underwear (one holding a gaming controller), and insists it provides "full access to young, old, exciting, sexy individuals".

A "discreet" membership on the site costs £20 a month.

However it was unclear who had joined the site ahead of launch. It was previously reported that some of Date A Gamer's members had originally signed up on other sites. The profiles were provided by a site called Global Personals, Eurogamer reported.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Tom Thurlow, who runs Date/Shag A Gamer, said the "initial 'starting base' of members for this site will again be determined by user interests".

But he denied the new site's users would be signed up automatically.

The reaction to the site on social networks was mostly negative, with descriptions of the new site ranging from "inane" to "awful".

Others wondered if the traditional demographic of video game fans would result in the healthiest gender mix:
