Lady Gaga's first foray into films has been announced by Sin City director Robert Rodriguez.
The director took to Twitter to announce he'd just finished working with the Poker Face singer:
And shortly afterwards Gaga confirmed her film debut by tweeting:
Gaga plays La Chameleon and posted a character poster, showing her sporting short blond hair, holding a smoking gun with a full white wolf wrapped around her body.
She joins a cast that includes Amber Heard, Sofia Vergera, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Alba, Danny Trejo (Machete himself), and Alex Vega from Spy Kids.
Playing the U.S. President in the film will be none other than Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson is also rumoured to make an appearance.
Machete Kills is a sequel to Rodriguez's 2010 Machete, which began as a fake B-movie trailer in Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 Grindhouse. Machete is recruited by the U.S. government to travel through Mexico to stop a cartel leader and an arms dealer who has launched a weapon into space.
