Layla Anna-Lee Opening Ceremony Announcer

Layla Anna-Lee, the host of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee party in Trafalgar Square, has revealed she is the announcer at London 2012's Olympic opening ceremony.

Miss Anna-Lee, who will also be the announcer at the closing ceremony on 12 August, disclosed her joy at being selected by ceremony director Danny Boyle on Twitter on Friday afternoon.

At the age of six, she appeared in a Fairy Liquid commercial and went on to enrol at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but has forged a career predominantly as a sports presenter.

Her website mentions:

In 2008 she was chosen to present the BMX World Championships for Eurosport. It was thanks to this, that execs saw her natural flair in front of the camera and asked her back to present Road Cycling events.

In 2010, Layla was headhunted by SKY Sports, and is still enjoying a successful career with SKY, presenting their major road cycling events and National Championships.

The 29-year-old will also host the much-anticipated beach volleyball at Horse Guards Parade during the Games.
