Residents Of VIllage Sleep Through JCB Ripping Out ATM Machine

Robbers ripped a cash machine from the side of a Suffolk bank with a JCB digger whilst residents of the village slept undisturbed close-by.

The machine was torn from the wall at the Needham Market branch of Barclays at around 3.30am, before the burglars made off in the digger, which was then left abandoned in a nearby field.

"The thud of a massive box hitting the ground I thought would make some noise, but we heard nothing."

Barretts lane is shut while police make further investigations.
