Katherine Jackson, grandmother to Michael Jackson's children, and up until a few weeks ago, their full-time legal guardian, has been temporarily re-awarded their guardianship after weeks of family feuding and confusion over who was caring for Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10.
This latest twist in the very odd tale comes in the wake of Katherine's reported 'disappearance' a few weeks ago - she had been reported missing by some of her family, and her grandchildren were said to be worried about her when she was out of contact for 10 days.
The 82-year-old then turned up safe and well at a Arizona spa claiming she was having a holiday.
Rumours abounded about a huge rift in the Jackson family, with stories claiming that Katherine, trustee of her son's £320 million fortune, had been spirited away from her grandchildren, and communication with them prohibited by other family members.
Footage appeared on YouTube of Janet Jackson allegedly slapping a mobile phone out of Paris Jackson's hands, and Jermaine and Janet rowing outside the children's home.
Katherine told reporters she had no idea that her 10 day break had sparked a hunt for her, and said she only found out when she accidentally overheard a TV report about her family.
She said that her kids and grandkids had been unable to contact her because the phone in her room was not working and she did not have access to her mobile or iPad.
A court hearing decided to reinstate Katherine's guardianship on a temporary basis, saying she had been doing a 'terrific job as guardian and the children love her' while also giving Tito Jackson's son TJ control over the staff and day-to-day operations in the family's home.
What an odd lot of goings-on!
Let's hope those children get some normality and consistency in their lives soon!
