A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 57-year-old woman.
Officers were called to Oxpens Road, Oxford, at about 6.40am on Saturday, following reports that a woman was being attacked close to Oxford Ice Rink, Thames Valley Police said.
A 19-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of rape and is in police custody at St Aldates police station.
Detective superintendent Paul Hayles said: "Officers responded very quickly to calls about the incident and made an arrest close to the scene.
"This is obviously a very distressing incident for the victim and she is being looked after by specially trained officers.
"There is a scene watch in place which may cause some concern in the local community but I would ask that any witnesses to this incident contact police."
