The Drag Queens of New York are a sight to behold, but as Leland Bobbé's photography shows - it takes a lot of war paint to make them that spectacular.
The Huffington Post's Gay Voices tracked down the photographer behind these incredible images, Leland Bobbé, who started the Half-Drag series after posting an initial portrait on his blog last March.
Using Facebook to communicate with more drag queens, the project has grown massively in popularity - and you can see why: these shots are totally mesmerising.
