War Horse has taken the world by storm.
Originally a book written by children's laureate Michael Morpurgo, it's now the stageshow and Hollywood film of blockbuster success.
But the people, puppets and magic bringing the incredible story alive often get forgotten amongst the tale of man, horse and war.
Here Lauren Laverne goes backstage at the National Theatre to speak to the creative minds behind War Horse's stage success, including Finn Caldwell, Associate Puppetry Director, and Emma Pile, who has curated the new exhibition, Staging War Horse, now on at the National.
The exhibition's well worth a visit - especially if you want to have your own go at wiggling a war horse's ear - but if you can't make it down to Southbank this summer, you'll still learn something new from the clip below.
