Two Killed In Texas A&M University Shooting, Gunman Arrested

Two Dead In Gun Attack At Texas University

A gunman has reportedly shot and killed two people and injured a number of others in an attack at a Texas university.

A report on the Texas A&M University website urged students to stay away from the College Station campus after an "active shooter" was reported in the area. Police have confirmed that an police officer and a civilian were killed.

The university alerted students through Code Maroon, its emergency notification system, saying: "Avoid Area. CSPD reports an active shooter in the area immediately southeast of the intersection of Welborn Rd and George Bush Drive. Please avoid the area. Residents in the immediate area need to remain inside their residence."

The incident was first reported at 12.30pm, after which there were unconfirmed reports of multiple injuries, including law enforcement officers.

Fifteen minutes later, Code Maroon reported that the gunman had been arrested but students were still being asked to stay away from George Bush Drive andf the immediate environs of the incidents.
