Dr Who Boss Steven Moffat Had Just One Rule For Timelord Matt Smith - Stay Away From Assistants!

Dr Who Boss Only Had One Rule For His Young Timelord...

Doctor Who chief Steven Moffat has revealed that he only had one rule for his latest Timelord, Matt Smith...

Not to try it on with his seductive sidekicks.

Matt Smith, with Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, at yesterday's highly-anticipated premiere of Series 7

Speaking at the premiere in London of the seventh series of the revamped sci-fi favourite, Moffat explained that he took Smith to one side when he first recruited him, and said: "Strictly between you and I... "

Karen Gillan, who plays the soon-to-depart Amy Pond in the series, interrupted Moffat at this point, claiming, "This is so embarrassing!"

But Smith was clear that he hadn't been tempted to break any rules, saying of himself and Gillan, "We're professionals." (The fact that he has long been involved with model Daisy Lowe is probably a factor, too.)

Gillan and her on-screen husband Rory, played by Arthur Darvill, are due to make their exit in the fifth episode of the new series, in circumstances that no-one has yet breathed a word about, save Moffat, who has revealed that it will involve arguably the Doctor's creepiest enemies, the Weeping Angels, whom we first encountered in the episode Blink, before they started moving in Flesh and Stone.
