'X Factor' Ratings Defended By Tulisa: 'It's Still The Biggest Show'

X Factor In Crisis? Tulisa Thinks Not

X Factor ratings dropped last year, with the grand final audience down 4million from the previous year and show supremo Simon Cowell expressing his concerns.

So this year's X Factor judges Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and newbie Nicole Scherzinger must be feeling the pressure to get it right?

Not according to a defiant Tulisa. Speaking at the press launch of X Factor 2012, the former N-Dubz star said: "It was still the second-best X Factor series last year."

And she added: "Just because on the odd night here and there we dropped down one mill, it doesn't mean the show is in crisis. It's changed very much over the years and it was still the biggest show second to the Royal Wedding. I'm not worried about it at all."

She might be confident, but ITV have made some changes to the show hoping to reverse that slide.

Saturday's 75-minute episode will see a revamp of The X Factor, with producers allowing wannabes to write and perform their own original music.

The Overs category will also be raised from 25 to 28 years old, as well as this year's final being moved from London to Manchester.

And the Boot Camp phase will also be moved from the capital for the first time, with contestants facing their second auditions in Liverpool.
