Two men will appear in court on Wednesday charged with burglary after an incident at a remote farm in which shots were fired.
Married man Andy Ferrie, 35, and his wife Tracey, 43, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the alleged break-in, after which Mr Ferrie told police he had shot two of four intruders.
Mr Ferrie fired the legally-owned shotgun when he and his wife were disturbed at their isolated farm in the Welby area of Leicestershire, near Melton Mowbray, in the early hours of Sunday.
They were last night bailed by police, pending further inquiries.
Two Leicester men, aged 27 and 33, were charged with burglary by Leicestershire Police and have been remanded in custody to appear at Loughborough Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Two other men, who were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, have been bailed pending further inquiries.
