What's Lego good for? If you're HuffPost? Messing around when you should be working.
If you're a genius with a lot of spare time? Building perhaps the greatest and most pointless machine ever fabricated by man.
The Lego Great Ball Contraption build by Lego god Akiyuki is taking the Internet by storm.
Featuring 17 modules designed to move 500 balls over 101 feet, it's probably the most amazingly pointless act of creation we've seen all year.
The modules are beautifully made - sometimes shooting balls into mini basketballs, other times sending them down tracks or into the precarious grasp of robotic arms.

It took Akiyuki 600 hours to build, over two years, and it will only take you six minutes to watch.
And watch it you should. See above.
