Teenager Arrested Over Murder Of Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone

15-Year-Old Arrested Over Police Shootings

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murders of police officers Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone in Hattersley, Greater Manchester Police have said.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offence around 2.30pm on Friday afternoon. He was taken from his school to the police station and has since been bailed.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 2.30pm today officers attended a school in the Hattersley area and they arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of assisting an offender.

"He has been bailed until Thursday, September 27, pending further inquiries."

Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said: "This remains a complex and sensitive operation and we continue to ask the public to search their conscience and urge anyone who has any other information to contact us."
